Hyundai Motor India has finally unveiled the rear design of the highly anticipated Exter SUV, just days before its global debut on June 10. In the latest teaser, Hyundai provides a sneak peek at the rear profile of the Hyundai Exter, giving us an idea of what to expect from this upcoming SUV.

Design Highlights: Rear Profile

The teaser image showcases the distinctive H-shaped LED tail lamps that catch the eye. A prominent rear skid plate adds a rugged touch to the SUV's aesthetics. The tailgate appears to have a flat design, while the roof rails enhance the compact SUV's height. Furthermore, the rear bumper features integrated reflectors, and there is a center high-mount stop lamp and a shark-fin antenna as well.

Exterior Design and Features

The Hyundai Exter adopts a boxy design language, complemented by a dual-tone exterior paint scheme. Among its notable exterior features, the SUV will come equipped with a single glass pane sunroof and Hyundai's Bluelink connectivity suite. Moving to the front fascia, H-shaped LED DRLs, a parametric design front grille, and a circular projector headlamp make a striking impression. The side profile boasts flared wheel arches with thick cladding and dual-tone alloy wheels, adding a sporty touch.

Segment-First Dash Cam Unit

As an innovative addition, the Hyundai Exter will feature a segment-first dash cam unit equipped with dual cameras. This advanced system will capture footage in full HD video resolution, enhancing safety and providing peace of mind to the driver.

Variants and Engine Options

The Hyundai Exter SUV will be available in five variants: EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. Under the hood, it will offer two engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, which is E20-fuel ready. The second option is a 1.2-litre Bi-fuel Kappa petrol engine with CNG compatibility. Transmission choices will include a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT unit for convenience.

Safety Features

In terms of safety, the Hyundai Exter SUV prioritizes the well-being of its occupants. It will come equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist Control (HAC), a 3-Point Seat Belt with seatbelt reminder for all seats, keyless entry, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), and a burglar alarm.

Expected Price and Competitors

When it comes to pricing, the Hyundai Exter is expected to start from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. It will directly compete with other popular compact SUVs in its segment, such as the Tata Punch and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
